One of the best use cases for chat based AI is coding. It’s a very technical skill that has prevented many non-technical people from building online for so long.
In the last 5 or more years, there’s been an explosion of no-code tools that has helped with this. However, they come with their own issues, like cost and flexibility.
Now, AI is enabling you to go properly ‘no-code’, by helping you write code instead. That can be code for a full app, a single feature, or even code to add to no-code tools to enhance the feature set of your build.
Recently, we spotted this clever little example of someone using ChatGPT to create the code for Cloudflare Workers, without being a programmer. Cloudflare Workers are fast powerful little workflows that can be utilised in web development, and even in no-code tools like Bubble.
Without being James has built a Worker which accepts an incoming webhook, calls an external weather API to get the weather for the requested location, and then append that data onto the original data and forward it on to it’s destination.
He explains the process with a quick tutorial in his blog post and shows exactly how to write the prompts and everything you need to do this yourself. An even though the tutorial uses ChatGPT, the exact same principle applies if you wanted to build in Claude.
